Just to put a price in peoples heads Ive done this for around 60 pounds, that includes the epoxy\sheath(Black sheep)\blade+liners+pins(FGYTs DWC) and consumable materials for sanding\oiling, thats for a custom knife made to fit your hand, if you have an inkling to have a go, do it! it is great fun,

PS sorry for the pic quality,

It was all bits id put together over time, while waiting for the right blade, I guess if you get the bits together in a one of it would be more,I got the wood as a swap for something i had orderd that was out of stock, which made it alot cheaper than it should have been, the epoxy is something i have for other tasks aswell, but one set of tubes has lasted me for four knives,

I must be going about it all wrong then - I'd need a very cheap sheath to come in at around £60 :(

Have a go at making your own sheath, it's real easy! you don't need any specialised tools to do one sheath, if you're stuck for leather let me know...

This should be interesting - its only just occurred to me now the blade is ready that I haven't a clue what to expect!! Not in terms of the undoubted talents of FGYT - but in terms of what is required to finish it....ho hum

The only tools I had first were a set of needle files, a rough rasp, variouse grades of wet and dry from 250 to2500 and some left over sheets of normal sand paper from 40 to 180 it took a while , but I think they should.

Wasn't the tools I was thinking of, so much as how 'finished' the blade will be - don't know if it needs an edge, if its hardened, or anything. Don't get me wrong, I'm not worried about it, It just amused me that I jumped in without finding out! :)
