Recipies for your personal hot toddies please.

Is Stags Breath any good warmed up?

Just heard someone mention a toddy on tv earlier and thought I'd get opinions on what folks use in theirs.

Just sit right in front of the fire Tam and drink the whisky ,Job done, you will not remember you had the cold :lmao:

Sounds good Tam

Back to the question you asked ,big spoon of honey big dram o whisky slice of lemon pour boiling water over the top stir and drink while hot

Hot port - generous helping of decent Ruby port, some cloves & lemon (preferably with the cloves stuck into the lemon so you don't eat them) and sugar to taste if you like it really sweet. Oh, and some boiling water (optional) ;)

Hot chocolate with a good dollop of Tia Maria in it - a nice nightcap.

Simple hot lemon, sugar and spirit of your choice, Rum or Brandy in hot chocolate (or ice cold for that matter), drop of brandy in a coffee, drop of whisky in tea (xmas tradition in our house), all nice to drink.

Y'know ? you could have a Malt of the Month Meet :)

Folks agree to pay a share and the bottle is duly purchased......and shared around until it's done. Teachers do it, archaeology lecturers do it, masons do it.........why don't you ? :D

Hot Toddy.............good enough whisky that you're not shuddering at the first sniff of it, add a spoonful of honey, the juice of an orange and some hot water. Lemon's traditional, but I like orange, and better yet with ginger too.

Or, melt some good chocolate in a glass of milk (10 second bursts at a time full power in the microwave works) stir well each time it stops. Add the hot chocolate milk (as full fat as you can find, skimmed stuff's dead) to the whisky.
It's not really a Toddy, per se, but it tastes pretty good even through a cold from Hell :) Needs stirred lots though.

Or, carefully heat up a glass of Irn Bru (I kid you not :) ) add to whisky and enjoy.

cheers,
M

I remember the good old days of trips up to North of the border and Iron Bru and Whiskey in a glass bottle already prepared for you, I think it was Bells inside but needs must.

I love my Malts and have an ok selection (only got 7 different ones on the go at the sec but what the heck:) )

As for a hot toddy, I go for Gluwine, mulled wine, warmed mead ( i have few to select from as well) warmed Rum and maple syrup is a nice mix too (sweet but warming)
