...what would be your ideal piece of camping/bushcraft equipment? It could be something that hasn't been invented yet or an improvement on an existing item.

I'd be interested to hear your ideas/suggestions.:)

Ever-lasting water bottle
Backpack with anti-gravity device
Tent with built in heating
Mini-teleportation device that will 'beam' the wee out so you don't have to get out of your snuggly sleeping bag
Contact lens that converts a stare into a lazer beam to light your fires.

That about covers it for me too.

An invisibility cloak - I could camp where I want and not be seen
Swiss Army sherpa - To carry everything and with a load of tools I'll never use (when was the last time I needed a hoof pick?)
Pocket sized Ray Mears - all you ever need to know about living out doors
10L Tardis ruck sack - on the outside is only 10L, but on the inside!!!!!!

Found one

Survival:

A stillsuit.

Please don't anybody tell me that they don't know what I'm banging on about...

:D

I can't say that the thought of surviving on my own (or anyone else's for that matter) recycled body fluids appeals overly, but if the balloon ever did go up it would no doubt come in very handy...

Camping:

A single pill that grants a lifetime's immunity to Scottish midges with no side effects :D

Bushcraft:

The means to visit with our paleo ancestors (and return in one piece) to understand how it actually is done when it's a full-time occupation...

Mechanical/electric insect repellent that worked.

A combined bivvi bag/sleepingbag/hammock system, that could be used on the ground or slung between trees.

Folding pans and frying pan that weighed almost nothing.

Portable hammock stand that was no heavier or bulkier than walking poles.

I think all these thing could be done apart from the first one:

You could make the bivvy bag hammock combo with some down, pertex etc.
Titanium cook set
The illusive dizystuff handy hammock stands

That. Plus I'll add the proviso that it must be damned comfy and warm, weigh next to nothing and pack up smaller than a bog roll.

A tougher and smaller kindle/ebook reader to take into the field (knowledge might weigh nothing but books get heavy quick).
Another for the super small, super light but warm sleeping system.
I'd be worried about the battery life on a lightsaber knife :P
