I have read that yarrow can be used to stop/help stop the flow of blood when you cut your self. Would you think it would be better to hold the leaves on the cut or do you think it would be more effective if you turn into a polutice?

Would you say the same for plantain?

The inner bark, pale green and moist, of the Alder trees smaller twigs is astringent and anti septic and will stop bleeding in cuts.. It can be used as an emergency dressing. It is very important to ensure the cut is washed clean before application.

I have used it on a number of occasions on myself and others.
