THIS is Ruth:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_Goodman_(historian)

Ruth Goodman (born 1963[SUP][1][/SUP]) is a British freelance historian of the early modern period, specialising in offering advice to museums and heritage attractions.[SUP][2][/SUP] She is a specialist in British social history and is a presenter of the BBC educational documentary series Victorian Farm, Victorian Pharmacy, Edwardian Farm and Wartime Farm.[SUP][3][/SUP] She also presented the 2005 series Tales from the Green Valley,[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] and occasionally presents features for The One Show.
She has been a consultant to the Victoria & Albert Museum and Shakespeare in Love.[SUP][2][/SUP] She is also a member of the Tudor Group, a re-enactment organisation for the Tudor period.[SUP][5][/SUP][SUP][6][/SUP] As a result of her social history research, she has stopped using detergents in her washing machine, never eats factory farmed food and sometimes cooks on an open wood fire.

She can gut a rabbit and boil her linens with the best of them!

As soon as I saw the photo with the film crew in it I thought it was Ruth.

If you haven't seen it then I can recommend "Tales from the Green Valley".

Who's Ruth then? :)

As above - Ruth Goodman - a wonderful presenter of interesting and engaging living history! She is one of the very few people who make owning a TV worthwhile. She always reminds me of the real farmers wives I know - capable, intelligent, hardworking and humorous - a proper "partner in life" rather than a bit of eye candy who whinges when she chips a nail! :)

Whoa! Spooky. I didn't even see the camera crew in the shot until you mentioned this. It sort of became the eaves of a low roof/barn to the side as I was concentrating on what the main people in the shot were doing.

Thanks for the info, still none the wiser but I'm sure Youtube will enlighten me.

Yep Ruth Goodman, I have known her for many years through her Tudor Group work, yesterday was first day of filming for the new Farm program. Well you need to get your priorities right, no bowl, no food.
Apologies I was not told at the time but they are not keen on photos going out just yet so I have taken them down.
