Hello folks. Glad to be here on the forums and at the BCUK site. And a great site it is. As most folks here, I am interested in things bushcrafty, but from a Canadian perspective, more like Northern Bushcraft.
About myself, I'm a single dad( I'm 50, yikes :0 ) with a lovely 6 year old daughter(Meg.)
I live in Canada near our country's largest city(Toronto, yuk). I've been into bushcrafting and primitive skills most of my life, before I guess bushcrafting had a name?!
I've spent most of my youth, and up till my daughter was born in Northern Ontario, and hope to move/retire there before I get too decrepid!
My family was originally from England(my grandmother moved to Canada between the wars). Our family came from Brighton I believe, and owned a small hotel there until the depression(not sure of the name of the hotel though).
For those from that area my grandmothers maiden name was Lawrence, and married name Feast. Lawrence name apperently had a long tradition in Her Majesty's Royal Navy.
One day I'm looking forward to walking/hike the South Downs, and before I'm too old, and when my daughters older, I would like to attempt to walk: Norfolk Coastal Path-Suffolk Coastal Path-Southdowns Way-Southwest Coast Path...oh, did I mention I'm into walking/hiking...
Anyway that's it for now. Looking forward to chatting with you all, and exchanging info. Ta for now.
Cheers
Alex
