Nice surprise today at work today. One of my colleagues said "you're into camping and stuff? Do you want these?"

The top one is what glaziers use to hack out putty from old frames - made to be struck on the spine with a metal hammer, and make a great froe-like tool for splitting small kindling or battoning slices off a half-log for when you need a flat piece to carve,e.g. comb etc.

Guilt free battoning, eh?

The cleaver looks like it has a army broad arrow stamp , is that a date and makers mark either side? I'd be surprised if it wasn't Sheffield made or UK at least. Very nice anyroad.

The maker's mark on the cleaver looks like Elwell - and they didn't make a bad tool, did they?
