Anyone had any ideas in terms of creating interesting puzzle based Geocaches?
I had a go a Geocaching 18 years ago. I forget what the clue was but I remember it was something along the lines of a crossword style clue. So even once we had found the location of the cache it still took us a while to solve the clue and actually look in the right place to find it. It was a fun afternoon.

So maybe you could consider introducing some kind of crossword style clue. Or were you thinking of having more of a physical puzzle of some kind?

There were/are various geocache apps out there, used a few of them years ago, some free, some freemium, not sure they would even still work or even be any use in this case.
Suppose one could use a map based puzzle to find the cache, mix of orienteering and geo cache, with clues built into the cache for the next stage.

W3W gives you loads of opportunities for puzzles and clues.

Unfortunately W3W have taken some of the fun out of the free app and put it behind a paywall.
The basics are still free though.
