I have just come back from a great weekend with Fraser Christian at his woods in Dorset.

There was only five of us in the end but we had a great time.

Nice catch up with the guys again.

Apart from eating like Kings we even had torrential rain and snow.

The "young man" is me ? and I'm using the new Chris Caine survival companion knife, a really nice bit of kit, with a fire rod and sharpening steel in the sheath, it belonged to our mate Simon, I hope to get one soon, and was thinking of doing a video review of it ????????

I did actually spare a thought for you lot camped on the other side of the hill when it started lashing down Sunday morning and I was nice and snug in my cabin That was a bloody heavy storm followed up by snow!

The initial downpoar was intense. It woke me with a start. I could feel the spray through the mossie net and I have a True North Big tarp.

Waking again to the snow was special though as it was totally unexpected.

Those hazelnuts look more like the work of a woodmouse. There are dormice in the area, but it doesn't look like it's done by one of them this time.
