I do fancy having another go at making some amadou. But it’s pretty much impossible to get a decent size one anywhere south of Scotland (at least that’s my experience) Has anyone ever found any usable brackets further south?

Another tinder I've made that is pretty good is to shave down a fat wood stick into little shavings which I keep in a tin. One stick will make a lot of tinder, and lasts ages. Useful with all sorts of methods.
