That was remanufactured in modern materials, but very close to the originals, by SOG. Always wanted one!

It is a amphetamine used by pilots in ww2 to keep them going a bit longer on missions apparently

for other cracking reads, (and variations on the theme) try jungle soldier, by brian moynahan. it's the extraordinary story of freddie spencer chapman, who was the author of the jungle is neutral. freddie was a somewhat famous explorer between the wars, and a grand master of bushcraft and living off the land on various expeds, in various climes. during the war he was a fieldcraft instructor for various units, and ended up spending a few years being hunted by the japanese.

also beyond the chindwin by bernard fergusson, a coloumn commander in the chindits.
