When shopping there, try a sheet of 8,000 grit or 10,000 grit....gives a fantastic final shine!

Well, after a lot of practice I plucked up the courage to try and convex the edge of my new EKA W11.
It took 3 hours to complete and i,m over the moon.
It is now exactly what I want from it.
And it is unbelievely sharp (I now have one baldy arm)
Thanks alot for all the help. :) :)

Hi guys

I to have just got round to making and using the hoodoo hone and wow, it's sharp eh. i think as Hammy says it's just what i wanted from my bushcraft knife now. might end up squaring off the back of the blade to strike sparks from a steel but would have to take off about .5mm from a 4mm thick stainless blade and i don't think it's worth it as the grooves on the back work ok.

Anyway just rambling now, just wanted to say thanks for the advice.

Will :)

Finally did a pic to show what I did to my EKA W11.
The green lines show where the original 20 degree secondary flat bevel was, the red lines show the new much better secondary convex bevel.
The main bevel is still concaved.
The knife is now an exellent all round bushcrafter. Exellent at batoning and finer work eg feather sticks.

Hope this makes this thread a bit clearer
