Im entertaining the idea of switching to a ventile dpm smock, but I'd like to dye it to something more neutral. I just wondered if anyone had already tried this and if so, how it had turned out.... before i go making a big mistake ;)

Ventile should dye very successfully, it's pure cotton and I don't think you'll do it any harm. To completely rid it of the DPM you'll have to dye it all to the darkest colour of what's there already, but if you dye it, say, olive green you'll subdue it enough to make a difference and it'll be a lot more subtle.

No where near an expert on this, but wouldn't bleaching first at least lighten the colours?

If you are switching to a Ventile smock, why not switch to a plain green one and avoid the faff?
