Hi Folks,

As there are quite some dutch bushcrafters at this site, and bushcraft kit at a reasonably price is hard to find in the netherlands. I thought I might post some resources here.

If anybody has some questions about kit, don't hesitate to send me a PM. I don't sell anything myself, but have been looking a lot for kit in the netherlands, and maybe I can help others strugeling to get the right kit.

I read the forum rules and don't think I'm breaking any rules. If I am it is not intentionally, so please let me know. I'm not connected to any of the shops, just places I bought things to my satisfaction and thought they might be at use to some fellow dutchies.

If anybody wants more info, or pics from the products, I'll add them later (after I've taken them next weekend).

So here goes:

http://www.rangergear.nl

Here I bought some mil-tec rangere pants for € 7,95. Good strong pair of trousers, and when treated with fjallraven greenland wax you can't go wrong for that prices. Nearly as good in the woods as the € 100,= + priced trousers. They also sell a decent size tarp (3m X 2,2m) for a nice price. I just added 2 loops along the ridge line as there is just 1 in the middle of the tarp. They also gave me the upportunity to try on the pants at the pick up. Mind you there is no store, so I tried it on in one of the guys living rooms. Nice guys.

Here I got some olive green waterproof bags to use as pack liners. They are from tasmanian tiger. The large one fits the large military rucksacks (vulcan, or lowe alpine saracen) main compartment ( I have 2 one for the main compartment, and one for the sleeping bag. I use the one for the sleeping bag to store my dayclothes at night).
The small size is perfect for the sidepockets from the military backpacks. My complete set came for les than € 35,=

They sell the military bag packs (Lowe alpine saracen and berghaus vulcan) all material dumped by the dutch army. No store just a guy who has bought some batches. The stuff is used all though the lowe alpine saracen I got appeared brand new (for € 180,=)

Divers military dump stuff, but I got the dutch m90 sleeping bag system (complete with gore tex bivybag, sleeping bag, 1 sheet and compression bag) for € 70,=. Best price I found in the netherlands.

http://www.countrystore.nl/
http://www.extrasurvival.nl/

Probably well known to most dutch bushcrafters in the netherlands, Extrasurvival gives nice courses and also sells some small kit. The countrystore is as far as I know the only place in the netherlands where you can buy reasonably quality 7 strand paracord.

http://www.safetygreen.nl/

This place has a lot of gransfors axe's in stock, I went here to buy a small forrest axe, but after comparison I ended up with the scandinavian forrest axe. Both axes were in store, and that gave me the possibility to compare the 2 and make a better choice.

Now 2 english based places but where my experiance is they provide good service to the netherlands:

http://swc-handmade-knives.com/

Nice place to order quality knives, knive kits or knive materials, just send him an e-mail withh your wishes

http://www.ddhammocks.com/

More has been written about these hammocks, but just to let the dutchies know I have ordered from them and have had good service in the netherlands. Just some more over the hammocks for the larger people among us. These hammocks really can take wheights over 115 kg's wich in my experience is not the case with other hammocks I have had.

Hope this info helps some other people in the netherlands
