does anyone use a double skinned cup such as the Tatonka Thermo Plus for boiling water?
can these cups withstand fire or campstove heat?

Doesn't seem wise - they are designed to insulate and hence not transfer heat. If they contain air rather than vacuum they could also burst the cavity.

Never tried, and won't be trying it anytime soon - reckon single skin is a better bet

Don't even try it. It won't work but you could do some serious damage to yourself if it pops on the fire. I saw one go once. The outer, not having any liquid next to it got red hot and melted. It went with a pop as the vacuum failed. The water spilled out as the cup fell over and the guy who was using it got a face full of hot steam and burning wood ash as the water hit the fire. Not nice and it spoiled his trip.
