Wherever I choose to live.
Not as exciting as the title suggests, but I want to see what your dream SAK would be. What tools, shape, color etc.
Mine would be in the handle shape of the Trekker with:
Scandinavian Ground One Handed Blade
Wood Saw
Philips Head
Bottle Opener/Flat Head
Can Opener/Mini Flat Head
Awl
Replaceable and Removable Ferrocerium Rod
Metal Saw/File
Small Half Serrated Carbon Blade.
Pen (instead of a toothpick) &Tweezers

It would be Red, with the classic Vic or Wenger Sign on it.

Britannia!
aslong as it has a good blade, a pair of scissors to trim ones moustache and a file to keep my claws perfectly shaped I'm happy ;)

One handed opening main blade would be great, in stainless too. And a secondary blade in carbon steel would be wicked! I use the tweezers alot, nose hairs and such so they are a must

Has to be the Rucksack grip and locking mechanism. The newer locking designs just don't do it for me and the classic knives are too flimsy.

- Large one hand opening blade
- Small blade
- Phillips screw driver (also doubles as a sort of marlin spike sometimes)
- Wood saw
- Can opener/screwdriver (got to have it)
- Bottle opener/screwdriver (again, got to have it)
- Awl (brilliant tool!)
- Tweezers (such a life saver)
- 1/4" bit holder
- Chisel (comes with the swisstool and is very handy)

I'm really surprised Victorinox don't do custom orders of some sort actually. It doesn't seem to be so complicated and they'd make a lot more money. I'd love to have a knife without all the silly bits like corkscrew, toothpick, etc. I think there's some folk that drill out the rivets, put whatever tools they want in and reassemble with corby rivets actually. I think I saw it somewhere.

Cool idea for a thread though. Will be interesting to see what people like in an SAK.

Joking apart, one of the few TV programmes I've watched recently was about the manufacture of Victorinox swiss army knives and it was very interesting.
But not as good as "Jimmy's Forest" was!

Apart from the blade the thing I miss most now that I don't carry my SAK day to day is the awl.

So one of those and maybe a pair of scissors.

Scissors
Saw
Tweezers
Toothpick
Removable Ferro rod
(striker would be back of knife)
Large blade
file (flat head)
Awl
Phillips screwdriver
Bottle opener/Flat head
Can opener/Mini Flat head
Hook puller
Spike
Magnifying glass
Trolley key on lanyard
Allen key
Tick tool
Wirecutter pliers

So basically a tweak to my current Champ.

I would be interested to know if the things can be repaired, as I have a rather battered and worn SAK which I was given in 1976 and I am loathe to ditch given the sentimental value, but it has been used well over the years.

Yes, you can return it to the factory for repair.

I'm sure that everybody knows this: Victorinox have a "tool finder" on their website, which lets you pick the tools you want on your SAK, and it gives you a list of all their models that have those tools.
