On the group meal i am with you on that one a few legs of lamb under de ground and the big pot of veg casserole should do the trick. but if anyone wants to come up with a better plan , or bring something else thats fine too .!

This is a very generous offer from Ivan and as he is our host and the camping is free, I wouldn't want him (or anyone offering to do a group meal) to be out of pocket.
So I would like to suggest that we all have a whip round for donations to offset the cost. Ivan's not asking for anything but I think it would be a good idea.
No pressure or prescribed price list, but I'm sure every little helps.

Also if anyone else wanted to cook a group meal and has a idea of what you would need. I would suggest put up a list and quantity and we can all get some stuff.

Don't worry Paul....
As part of your training we will hide somewhere on Dartmoor and you can try and find us!

You might want to take a packed lunch with you. :)

No problem with chipping in.

of course more than happy to chip in (times 4) for a group meal. though due to having all my kin with me, i think we will self cater for the remaining meals if that isn't too rude? lots of 1s and 2s on the list, whereas we are a 4, so to organise ourselves into more than one meal, would be a) awkward and b) create feelings of guilt that we aren't putting in as much as we are getting out

on the latter, i know you are all not the type that would take offence, but i am the type (neurotic) that would feel guilt regardless of others generosity :)

as for snares, isn't snare making in this setting a evening group fire activity? a bit like knitting :p

i am fully carnivorous, and my daughter consumes anything and is in a permanent state of hunger!!! my wife and son however are reluctant meat eaters though have to just get on with eating dead animal due to my daughter and I! lol

as for drinking, no probs here :) i would ask that its remembered that kids are around so language doesn't go to c level words, oh, and as my son is 13, he is allowed just the one can of cider when sat round the camp fire..... my daughter has a taste for lager, please do not give in to any statements she may make that she is allowed a sip (which will be a gulp) of yours lol

as for looking forward to it, i have been told repeatedly, "it is a month away, i am not allowed to start bring stuff in from the garage to the conservatory" lol

Listen guys and gals. This is my treat the camp a few beers and the one group meal. This is not a money making excersise for me ,its an introduction my chance to show off a special place to me ,also to meet like minded people and hopefully make some new friends. If any of you feel you want to chuck a couple of quid towards the outlay all well and good .But we will have no more talk/posts about money lets get back to willing march to go pretty quick .Thanks for being thoughtful Ivan

PS you twits will be paying guests if you come again though !!!!!!!

i wouldnt mind liberating you of a few metres of said wire, let me know won the day what you want towards it. i never get enough opportunity to justify buying a spool full. want to teach my son how to make, have had a little go with him in the past, but to do it on site, locate runs and set them, makes it so much more of a mission

though its going to be years before i can get him to to the dispatching..... thought he was going to throw up when he "oared" that porcupine on "dual survivor" lol

my fault, never took him fishing much as a kid, so he hasn't even priested a fish
