A flat tyre has just trashed a good part of my bushcraft budget, so no fancy shopping for me - luckily it doesn't affect the stew budget, which is already allowed for!

Agree about work

Remind me to put mouse traps around my bivvi and wait for the screams or even better mouse traps inside the boots, just hope I don't forget they are there and get myself instead.

lol, only trouble is, people have started putting locking wheel nuts on their cars now lol.

Wish my car woe was just a tyre.... Think my injectors are playing up... Gonna be best part of £100 just to diagnose on Wednesday. If I need new injectors, you can times that by 10 :'(

Course, might be worse, might be the turbo!! Looking at £1500 then. The car ain't worth much more :( but then, finding a replacement that has (and hopefully remains after this) been as trouble free for the same money is highly unlikely

Don't worry about the Stoo for Friday evening Lucy - I've been temporarily promoted to 'Delia Newman' by HWMBLT. So I hope I've got that covered now. Plus keeping him fed and alive 'til Friday! Something to accompany the hangi on Saturday seems to be missing though (something to spend your stew allowance on maybe?) - all suggestions and contributions could assist. Out of my hands though, because after feeding the throng on Friday night I'm sure I will be demoted again - sent back down to the ranks, dismissed, exploited, forgotten and cruelly used - so I'll be heading back to car-park duties (if I'm lucky). :puppy_dog

It's not fair....!

Goodbye cruel world!

My Dear Mr Newman, a promotion is just that ! unless you don't come up to scratch in the newly refitted woodland kitchen. there is no need to harbour thoughts of that nature , i have every confidence that out of the shortlisted applicants , that i have made the right choice.

One thing we failed to discuss, was the rate , anyway to put you mind at rest , its the same, therefore i welcome you to the throng of a very busy moorland kitchen , with a reputation second to none , and know you are up to the challenge .

That is until , the return of TBL , then you can just get your no good , sorry useless @rse back down the car park ! Looking forward to working with you .

All the very best

Ivan..

Also Lucy is making a stew , she is bringing in Friday as an extra bit of warmth ! ( if you bothered to read the previous posts , and stopped cherry picking !)

I will source ingredients to accompany , the hangi offerings on the Saturday.

And finally after much searching , there is an old dear , only two fields away with a punto , brimming with spares , good news aswell , we will have the best part of a full moon , for our midnight tool assisted wander ..

Good grief - now I am all confused about food again!!! Am I making a stew for Friday and if so what else, if anything, is being cooked on Friday and who is cooking it? Last chance to change any food plans because I will be getting the shopping done soon.

Right ! sorry Lucy , i thought you had already sorted your stew end , so as not to muck you about . Me and Heston Newmanthal , will make a BIG ! pot of yummy stew as we will already be hold up in camp , and we can easily organise ingredients etc , also saves you carrying a pot of liquid in your 3 wheeled car , and then lugging it up to camp , so if you don't mind , if you could bring a load of veg to accompany the hangi meal on Saturday , that would be brill, you can leave it in the car and someone can wander down Sat morning , as you will have enough to carry on the Fri evening .
Then you get to peel spuds , like you have been longing to do ! Sorry for any confusion only i have given, the new chef too much authority !

On a nother note do you want me to set up a tent for you as it will be dark when you arrive ? or are you going to rough it you tufty ?
