Yep, Had our boosters - which is just as well as our grandson (8) has tested positive and so has his Mum. The lad is as right as rain, his mother is in bed :(

Nearly every child in his class has had it now so it was inevitable he was going to take it home.

@Broch I hope everyone recovers well.

I had my booster a month ago. They're given with the flu' jab in the other arm at the same time.
Kind of fevery and very headachy for 48 hours, and my arms ached for about a week, but on the whole a hugely easy reaction for me compared to any other vaccination. Very much relieved.
This one was the Pfizer, my first two were the Oxford A-Z ones.

Now we're being told that Christmas parties are not a good idea because of the latest variant being so very much more infectious than the last widespread one.
The only saving grace is that the South African Doctors who first dealt with this variant say that it's generally very mild.

Yep, same here, Pfizer for the booster. I didn't even know the nurse had put the needle in :)

Am I being selfish, but I kind of hope my Brother and family decide not to join us for lunch on the 27th? They live in North London.

My eldest and his girlfriend live in Glasgow, pretty much right next to Glasgow University.
Student central really.
They've already said that if things aren't safe, not to worry about bringing them out on Christmas. They'll just have a day mostly in their jammies and chill out at home. Do a couple of zoom calls instead.
We've all gotten used to the seperation, but none of us is happy about it.

Ive had both doses and just got the booster a couple of weeks ago. Topped it off with a regular flu shot , and my pneumonia shot is good for another year or so.
So I am good to go.

Me too.

And I had a sore arm, but no side effects.

I am worried that this year will be of bad colds, due to lowered immune systems

Me and Dad stocked up on soups and paracetamol.

What kind of soup are you having with the paracetamol, I normally have crackers or toast with my soup. Very good idea to keep a good stock of tinned goods especially soups.
Do be careful with the paracetamol, can be quite dangerous to take too many, which is easily done if you don't feel well.

Had the third a fortnight ago, Moderna after the 2 AZs earlier this year.
Sore arm for a few days, but nothing else.

TeeDee; dont be daft.

This is common sense when everyone seems to be going down with something or other.

(We chose colds as we both have been jabbed for other things)

Two Astra Zeneca, both gave me flu type aches, shivers and night sweats. Third was Pfizer and no reaction at all. Despite the reactions to the AZ, I was sort of pleased there was a reaction.

Do be careful with the paracetamol, can be quite dangerous to take too many, which is easily done if you don't feel well.
Three hip operations and a general blasé view of the dangers of paracetamol I can’t even use it if I wanted to anymore.

Had my booster this morning. It was Pfizer and so far no reactions unlike the moderna jabs (1 & 2).

Obviously it's probably too early to tell, a friend of mine was unwell 24hrs after his jab and I'm only on hour 3ish now.

Wife was booked in and I went along for moral support (had far too much work to do to risk being struck down by jab) but then I saw they did walk ins and figured I'd just get it over with, so we both got stuck today!

She had a stocky royal marine sort her injection out... apparently she didn't feel a thing... I had some really small nurse, she stuck me like a pig! Bloody hurt haha.. maybe I'm just feeling soft at the moment hahaha

Had my 3 last year, 2 AZ and Pfizer booster. Luckily I had no reactions to any of them. Tested positive for the Omicron variant on boxing day though. Thankfully except for a stuffy nose, I had no symptoms, I'll put that down to the vaccines. Tested negative yesterday and today.

In the end Son1 and his girlfriend did come out for Christmas.....and everyone apart from my husband has gone down with a cold. J and his girlfriend had queued for over an hour in Glasgow to get her the Booster jag the day before Christmas eve.
We've all been testing, but it's just a cold, a rotten headachey, sneezing runny nose of a cold.
Shows you just how easy it is to pick that kind of thing up though, even wearing masks and the like.
Himself had sinus' operated upon years ago, and ever since has used the nasal spray he's prescribed. Funny enough he's never had a cold in all the years since.

Makes you wonder if those saline solution nasal sprays might have some benefit after all.

Had both A.Z jabs last year, shaking like a leaf with a high temperature & thought my head was going to explode.body felt very sensitive, similar feeling to having sunstroke.
Also my arm was useless for 3 days where I had the jabs

Had the Pfizer booster yesterday, was a bit stiff all over & a little headache.,only lasted about six hours.

I don’t mind people not having the jab, it’s their choice, their body & I’ll respect that.
