Hey all you experienced bushcraft people!
Firstly, I currently own a lovely Mora, which was my first knife, and has served me faithfully for 4 years now. However, I've been looking around for a new one, maybe a little bigger than my current one. I'd like to come up with a good excuse for one, but really I just like knives, so my excuse is that I'd like one! Any suggestions from people? I'm looking to spend up to around 100 GBP maximum.
Second thing is that sometimes I work on a farm, and due to the nature of the business I find I need to take my leatherman with me. It's a locking blade knife, and I was recently talking to a friend who said that he had his taken off of him for the same thing (He works at the liveries nearby) from the police. He was stopped because the cop saw it on his belt.
Note that we are both 17. Neither of us has ever been anything but careful with our knives, and only carry them to and from our work(s).
The police said that he couldn't verify the story so he took it from him. While my dad and my boss at the farm both say they'll verify the story, can you guys think of anything I could say in order to keep my knife in the circumstance my dad's away from his desk? (Frequently happens, and my boss is usually out in the yard, away from the phone). I'm not sure what I could say, and I definitely don't want to lose it.
Thanks for any suggestions guys!
