colouring bone.

Hello everyone,
I want to make a few bone beads,for a project that i am on with at the moment.I would like to colour them, so the colour is in the bone and not on the surface.As it would be if they were painted.I was thinking about using diferent coloured inks.Has enyone tried this before.If so did it work.Or can enyone sugest another method.I would like them to be red, green, blue and black.Thanks for taking the time to look.

i would think food colouring would be OK

This guy is an excellent knifemaker and uses selfcolored bone and antlers alot.

Tea can be used to stain bone..but Im not sure about different colours
