When I drank mamy many moons ago the only cocktails I drank were a rusty nail aka kilt lifter equal parts Drambuie and Scotch lovely. Then the last drink of the day was a bloody Mary with extra tobacco my claim was that it prevented hangovers.
I developed an allergy to alcohol and have not taken a drink for 35 years.
Clean and sober as they say.

Currently trying to master Ice - specifically clear Ice.
Not easy! The key is to freeze slowly so you need an insulated container for the mould and a freezer set to about minus 10 rather than -18 like regular ones.
I bought some moulds on Amazon &
modded my little freezer to -10. Works well but takes much longer to freeze. Pretty much a full day. Good luck!

Helps, some say that boiling the water first also helps as a lot of the dissolved gasses escape. Haven't really experimented ... :)
You could try de-ionised water too, although I haven’t noticed any difference with either that or boiled water.
Time seems to be the key factor for all those who have success at home.

OK, when lakes freeze in the autumn the first ice is mostly crystal clear if there's no wind. The freezing is probably quite slow as the ice is not very thick over the night even in quite low temps.
