Hello!

Recently I lost my father to Pancreatic Cancer. Our local hospice and the 'End Of Life' nurses they provided did an absolutely fantastic job of looking after my father and I was thinking of a way to say 'Thank You!'

This is what I've come up with; my father was a bit of a knife enthusiast and although his collection wasn't nearly as grand of some I have seen on here, it did boast a few little treasures.

So, with the permission of the MOD's I'm launching an online auction of one of my fathers collection, with the proceeds going to my local hospice. In case some of you are unaware, hospices receive next to no funding from the government and rely solely on charitable donations in order to stay open. Macmillan nurses work on the same basis and work hand in hand with your local hospice to care for the needs of your local area. Without adequate funding these specialist facilities will cease to exist and communities will lose a valuable asset.

ANYWAY....

Enough of the doom and gloom...

I'm auctioning this Browning Folder, I brought it back for my father from a trip to Canada and it has never been used at all-it just sits in the box and looks pretty!

Here's the blurb from the manufacturer:

-420-J2 stainless steel blade
-Scrimshaw game scenes
-Laser-engraved Buckmark logo
-Knives that harken back to the days of yore with finely wrought scrimshaw game scenes. The Scrimshaw Series features a folding lockback, 420-J2 stainless-steel blade, laser-engraved Buckmark logo, finely polished handles, and brush-finished back with Browning logo. Blade length: 2-7/8''.
-Manufacturer model #: 542[/COLOR].

The rules are as follows:
-The bidding starts at zero
-People can then place there 'bid' on the thread, there is no limit to bidding so bid as many times as you like.
-The 'auction' will be open for 7 days. It will end at 10pm on the 25th of July.
-Price bid does not include postage, this is so the charity will receive as much of the cash as possible. I will be charging post at £2.50 unless you live abroad whereby I will find out the cost of posting at a later date.
-Payment by paypal or a cheque and I will ensure the money is forwarded on to the correct department at the hospice.

Heres a few pictures of the knife (sorry they aren't brilliant-I only used my phone to take them!)
