Computer is dead. Bought 2 years ago and they think the motherboard is burned out. Seems it's still protected by consumer law so they will repair it. Hopefully have it back by the weekend. Borrowing other computers or using my phone at the moment. When I am up and running I will get some pics up.

Great day by the way Kev! One thing I learned, Cattail reedmace cooks like snot and tastes about the same too!

You sleeping over as well Kev? I am interested. I have a week off sometime in sept so will look at dates.

Should get my tipi in there somewhere? Wondering if it will have cooled off enough to fire up the stove? This time of year is great to be outdoors.

Skolding Woods - TL 42640 95730 on http://yorkramblers.org.uk/OS/Chadwick.html"]where's the path[/URL]. Its just town side of Upwell Park Residential Home PE15 0DR - Behind the old disused house with the Harris metal fencing blocking the gates. If you go past the home there is a byway (Green lane) on the right that goes around the back of the woods but it has some deep ruts so be warned and you will need a 4x4
There will be no water or facilities or anything there so all carry in and out please
There is a lot of wildlife there (including the overnight sleep place for a herd of local Deer) so no dogs or guns and no hunting in the woods please although there is 3 acres of grassland adjoining the woods.
We shall have a group fire using the dead standing wood and there is a trivet and tripod.
Take your own food and water.
Any other stuff you need to know?
Oh BTW it is always at your own risk as I've taken Public Liability Insurance out

Got down Skolding woods this afternoon to find utter devastation.
Bridge removed, big holes dig up, trees ringed and three Oak trees chopped down :soapbox::cussing:
I rang the owner Rob and found out he caught a large group of dic*h*ad BMXers digging holes and racing around.
He told them to pi** off or the old bill would be coming and he told them he knew who they all were (helpful being a prominent local councillor ;)) and not to come back.
I was joined by one of the locals who saw me going down. He showed me where they had chopped a tree down and made it into a bridge (not there now).
They had come well prepared. We found 6 spades locked to a tree with a foot pump, a rake and a pair of hedge clippers. Soon picked the combination lock so we now have a nice collection in our sheds.
They had broken the body off a wheelbarrow which was full of empty pop and Bud bottles. The frame may come in handy for moving gear from the car park :)
Lucky the owner escorted them off and I didn't catch them, little twonks
May have some new members joining us in September though now we have plenty of wood cut (must remember to take the bow saw to the weekender

Crikey they did a lot of damage quickly!

I am guessing they took the spades to the trees hence the hacking. I hope the land owner is suitably annoyed enough to pursue a prosecution of criminal damage considering the utter devastation they have caused. Might be worth putting some signs up 'danger shooting in progress - keep out'. Maybe that will slow them down a bit.

My dad went down the wilderness lake on Saturday morning and turfed a 'bushcrafter' off who was happily using our camping area.

It seems the only thing that slows trespassers down is if your using the wood regularly and kick them off. If they know someones always about they will look for easier fun elsewhere.

Sorry to see that Kev, it must've been heartbreaking.

just wondering if the meet up is open to new comers???

I have been interested for a long time just haven't had anywhere to go and haven't known anyone else that shares an interest in bushcraft.
I have all the gear I need but no idea lol so anything I can pick up from yourselves tips and tricks would be good.
