Roman Soldier found a nice way in and a base camp spot thats ideal.
Loads of bramble stabs getting in but the new entrance will be heaven

OK Guess who fell in here........twice? Both feet wet

I made us a tripod and grill to leave down the woods

Someone had hotdogs....Cor they looked good

Nice high sweet nettles. I showed someone that this type doesn't sting as bad....and docks were right beside them thankfully





OK tree detectives .....What's this?

I reckon a type of field maple as it hasn't got the Sycamore jagged edges and the winged seeds are 180º opposed (horizontal)

OK Update on this weekend
I HAVE GOT A QUAD

I'll be using it Wednesday to break a trail from the unused house in to the front of the woods (Got to be better than jumping a dyke )

This weekend we can either leave from mine and park in the private old house grounds or meet at the woods (TL 4271 9580 - just town side of the Upwell Park Residential Home PE15 0DR -Nearly opposite the dentists at 84 Upwell Rd PE15 0DA)

We are still on trial and there is a lot of wildlife there including the overnight sleep place for a herd of local Roe Deer) so no dogs, guns or bows please.

I shall be taking about 15 gallons of communal water (not communion water from the font) and we shall have a group fire using the dead standing wood.
I reckon it should be take your own food though as it's the 1st weekend meet.
Not themed for this one although someone I reckon is going to ask about scary sharp sharpening. Hopefully we can get a theme for the next one.
Any other stuff you need to know?
Oh BTW it is always at your own risk as I am not taking Public Liability Insurance out

Me and the quad have been trail blazing today. Knocked some of the waist high grass down which should make it a lot easier to walk through (If everyone doesn't get in the trailer with their gear) and then chopped a nice wide passage through some blackberry bushes. The Gerber machete made short work of them and some of the low canopy of the trees so we can get in easier. There is still a wet dyke to cross but I fashioned a bridge type thing when I got home to span most of it.
Came to another nice bit where the deer have been laying but the opposite end to the deer pits.
Good hard 2 hours set us up for an easier Friday I reckon
