IMHO, FWIW, my FAK, EDC, PSK & SAK, are BOB essentials. IRL HWMBLT thinks it's overkill, IIMMC.
GBA, SFA and PPK don't fit in my handbag though, even if it is DPM

" as bushcrafters mean something different to us than they might to the general population."

The Bush... Any UK woodland more than 1.25 miles from a bus route. ;)

Hiking boots - £150+ worth of hi-tech footwear used for crossing the 50 yards between the car and the campsite.

Olive green - colour worn by bushcrafters so that they blend in when camping in the snow.

Knife - a tool used for cutting wood, cordage and food. The public really don't understand this one.

Birch tapping - a gentle form of corporal punishment

Figure 4 trap - a difficult yoga position

Dynaglide - a pterydactyl

Titanium mug - an ultralight bushcraft obsessive

Haute cuisine - adding salami to a pot noodle

Cooked - burnt on the outside, raw in the middle

Goose down - a particularly good shot (in season)

Gaitors - things that grip your ankle and won't let go

Alone now.
This is a personal favourite of mine that I saw on a sticker on the back of a tatty Mk2 LandRover in Tesco's car park. "Bushcraft---Where you spend thousands to live like a homeless person" I want one of those stickers. :)

Bumping an old thread I came across when looking for the list of commonly used bushcraft initials...like FAK.

I laughed at the posts and thought it worthy of resurrection.

Anyone have any more ?

Bushcraft…. Sitting in folding chairs underneath trees drinking beer/whisky and occasionally chopping wood to chuck on the fire.
