I'm making up a new Bowstring and seem to have misplaced my string wax.

I used Beeswax instead which does the same job , but I was thinking has anyone tried Nikwax on a bowstring ??

String wax is beeswax unless you prefer some new fangled synthetic stuff, even then it is often less sticky and better to shoot than some of those, and the latest strings don't use wax of any type at all!

Thanks for the offer Stovie, I bought some off ebay a while back.

Some People seem to make magic potions up with to make it work better.

The stuff that seems to have got mislaid is a tube of the Bohning-Textite stuff, it's probably rolled off the bench and is hiding somewhere.

I think the Beeswax went on a lot easier than the fancy stuff.

I'm supposed to be making a new Flemish String for the Osage longbow, but keep getting distracted.

This morning the arrow making bits I've been waiting for have arrived.

why does everything happen at once
