Hi there
Difficult to find a good pair at just 80 quid... the first pair I got were about £100 by Technica and were ok as far as comfort, support and waterproofness went, but they only lasted less than 2 years. My wife's Meindls are still going stong 10 years later.
I then got a pair of Le Chameau.. good marque... 150 euros (£120) ... six months down the line, they leaked and the sole was coming away... crepe!!
I next got a pair of Lowa Combat boots (perhaps the Mountain boots would be a better general choice) ... 170 quid .. more than I wanted to spend but 6 years later and many miles walked and rivers fished.. they are as good as new. Brilliant;brilliant boots....!!!
The other brand I've been very impressed with and is not dear is YDS. I got a pair of the Oasis desert boots for summer use and they are supper comfy, look really tough and support the foot well. They do other versions in leather/goretex etc... as well as the suede/nylon. I've doen some walking with them and have never had a blister.
I think if you buy cheap you'll end up buying twice... so I'd suggest, and this is from my own experience, pay for a good brand ... and a good boot will cost you about double your 80 quid, and you'll not regret it...
cheers
Gareth
