very nice work! im currently on my third pair of turnshoes and now realise how important it is to get your pattern right! great inspiration here thanks

Turn shoes are quite primitive and difficult to fit precisely to modern feet. The experimental viking guys over here find thick wool socks (or nalbinding) are a must. Most guys make single sole versions and toss them when they wear a hole in them. It must have been a problem back then too (in spite of no crushed rock and pavement) because boots they found in York sometimes have a second sole on them to replace every so often, thus saving the uppers. Putting modern rubber soles on turn shoes with thick felt liners makes them comfortably last forever but changes the build process slightly. Still it is a difficult pattern to size perfectly to modern standards and not create health issues.

respect to you, venturing the DIY leatherwork, shoe/boot , looks promising!

Must also start once since I cant fine any decent ones under 500 euros....once....
