North Kent eh? I used to live in Whitstable, lived there for about 15 years so know that area quite well, sadly wasn't so much into Bushcraft then more into biker rallies.

Biker

Hi Biker just had to dig my old waistcoat out.

Hiya Dan,
Sorry mate don't recognise any of those rallies, except for the obvious like Isle of Man.

The ones I went to were mostly in the mid 80's to late 90's They were Kent Custom Bike Show, and Bulldog Bash and (when it ran) Crazy Daze all organsied by the Hells Angels. Magna Carta by M.A.G. a couple of times, on one trip into London I even swam in the fountains in Traflager square and did a burn out in front of the Tate Gallery on my old GPz550. That was fun!

The more local Kent clubs organsied such rallies as The Drink, Drop and Doss. By the Rejects. The Dick Turpin Rally by The Highwaymen. And assorted other smaller events that required overnight camping or a plastic sheet strecthed between two bikes.

Nice waistcoat Dan. Bet you knew you had that on. I had a load of badges on my waxcotten jacket and lost a lot of them when I fell off and went down the road on my chest, most were ripped off and ruined. Oh well. The ex-wfie's got the other badges in a box somewhere I suppose.

Thanks for sharing.

Got pots full- Used to put them on a leather baseball cap until it got to heavy to wear. My cutoff in the 70's was just badges stiched together as the denim was mostly long gone. I did 37 rallys one year - (possibly 1997) including the ****** Indian, Southhampton ????, Woz Wolf, Howling Wolf, Trikes R Us, AIM Bonfire Party, Loads of HOG rallies (1st Harley see), Couple of Druids rallies, few with The Guardians of The Golden Chalice, .................... Was I ever at home? helped having a rally stall....anyone remember the 3am chip butties or deep fried jelly babies?

Otto's Outings - the barf in a blue mug rally (free blue mug and a mars bar -but can anyone remember why? - I know). One man (otto) put on a rally for 300 people on his own - Legend.
Haven't seen him about for ... must be close to 6 years at least

He He, I remember your stall Kev! Done your guys rally a couple of times, got the Best Rat trophy to prove it too! Used to go to several rallys on that site, Cunning stunts, roadriders, Trikes'r'us, Some other one I can't remember, (must have been good!)Was a member of Smeggin BC back then, think it was your do that we cleaned house in your raffle one year.

Got a pot of badges, some about to go on my little girls denim for a laugh...

Wow, now here's a trip down a path that I'd all but forgotten.
from '81 to the mid 90's I did a few - mostly the NobRot, Magna Carta, Devils Weald and Lion - there were plenty of others in Potters Bar area and Devizes but I can't remember the names.
Once tried getting to the Dragon, but 120 miles in 18 inches of snow (on a Guzzi LeMans) was not fun and we had to turn back to make it back to work on time!

Ogri the trog

ya big wuss, Ogri! My mum went to the dragon in '64 when they got snowed in there. On her little Norton that she could only touch the ground by a kerb, proper shortie she is...

ya big wuss
The Big Wuss. Free one dayer. All profit went to a local charity (you paid to get into the band and stalls). Stopped as the local coppers wanted £6000 (what the charity used to get every year) to put extra men on because some morons started wheelying down the main street and doing donuts.
Anyone do the Fenman at Wibotisham August Bank holiday Monday? - Free unless you want to go into the show or go round the stalls - about 3000 turned up last year
Brother went to the Dragon this year. 1/2 cup of water frozen by the morning. Tent door swung open like it was made from cardboard. Only three loo's and one burger van for over 1000 people.
Anyone got ideas about why it was a free blue mug and a mars bar at the "Barf in the blue mug" rally put on by Otto's Outings yet?
