After reading Mr Fennas post about bannock i noticed that i can't afford all those ingredients so i use flourand water and i add whatevers naurally available.

Anyway is what i make bannock or something else?

If you use self raising flour it is indeed Bannock as self raising flour has bicarbonate of soda added to it as the 'self raising' agent. It costs about the same as plain flour so you can afford it.

If its plain flour and water, I think it is Damper.
If there is a raising agent (including Self Raising Flour), I think it is technically Bannock.

I make Damper with plain flour and water (although I also use SR Flour sometimes). I perfer to form the dough into Johnny Cakes (golf ball sized pieces), or spread them out flat (like chappati), or wrap it on to a stick (to cook in the fire).

Whatever you call it and however you make it, the most important thing is thay you enjoy it.
