These seem to be SADF issue but actually made in Australia. Maybe this is the maker?

Even quite a solid-looking pouch in Auscam here:

This stuff seems to be quite widely available Down Under -- suits the climate I guess.

Does anyone know if anyone at all imports them from Oz into the UK, though? I know a thing that size is a bit OTT, but ... well why not? ... if it is around.

That ace-tac web site is China based, their phone numbers are Beijing (I think).
Most of their pictures appear to be UK, which is probably the market they're aiming at.

It would be worth checking the postage costs, they may not be too bad, esp if the seller is a bulk poster (they can get huge postage discounts).

Personally I've never seen ace-tac products here, but perhaps it is around in another part of the country ?

Wellington Surplus is a real store, but its on the other side of the continent from me, I see they call the brand "TAS", which is probably how they market in Australia.

By the way as far as I know any equipment which is on issue to the ADF is not allowed to be sold to the public, so anyone claiming "as issued to the ADF" is probably misleading you !

Cadet Direct list the SADF M83 2l water bottle but don't give prices.

They say theirs are Aussie made.
The SADF M83 "Battle Vest" was mentioned on here a few years back, it has 2 large side pockets specifically for these canteens.

The issue framed rucksack has 4 such side pockets.

For anyone who's still interested in the OP's subject matter, I bought one of these recently.

The Chinese sourced (and probably manufactured) bottles are trademark stamped "Hangman", the same as
the Aussie supplied ones (http://www.harduseindustries.com.au/products/2ltr-sa-water-bottle-2655.php).
They are well made and tough enough but nowhere near as robust as my SADF issue 2l water bottle.
The carry pouch is handy also if that's your sort of thing.
An original SADF bottle will cost a small fortune in postage from South Africa.
Happy trails...torc.
