Hi all,
I have lots of sawdust and shavings, left over from logging and have been searching YouTube for ideas on building a rocket stove to use it up, shame to throw it away, and was wondering has anyone had a go at building one? And how successful was it?
Cheers
Bill

We have one at our cadet squadron, made from a 25 litre cooking oil drum.

We cut the top off and punched a 4" diameter hole in the bottom - found the tapered part of a fence post that fits down into the small hole and then filled it with sawdust & shavings, tamped down every few inches of depth.
When it is packed tight, wiggle the fence post out and stand the drum on a few bricks - start a small fire under the drum to get it all going.

Once alight they kick out a lot of heat and last for hours.
