Went on a bit of a scouting mission for an area suitable for a future overnighter today . Having looked at the map I knew I would be passing a very small and remote hill loch so I packed my small bushcrafty fishing kit . After a pleasant walk in I found said hill loch and thought I might as well give it a go . Would you believe it , First cast I caught a small brown trout which I kept as one makes a nice suppertime snack. Having fished for another 20 minutes I caught another seven of a similar or smaller size to my first, all of which were safely returned .
One more thing I found most unusual was that further on the road had been resurfaced with crushed scallop shells . Has anyone else ever seen this as its a new one to me ?
So I can safely say this area is on the list for future trips .
The road covered in scallop shells
Brown trout and fishing kit
As a matter of interest I was fishing with a size 1 copper coloured Mepp
