Somewhere, a while ago on the forum, maybe one of the long term members might recall it ? there was a thread about camping in the lee of a fallen tree being a very bad idea. If I recall correctly the tree sprung back up when the heat of the fire caused soemthing to dry out or shrink. If anyone does mind, I'd like to read the thread again, thanks
Harvestman, you have my sympathy; trying to do walkover surveys on fields that are more water than solid ground is exhausting. Even ploutering through peat bogs to pull out encroaching birch trees is a long day's work.
