I have no direct experience of this jacket. Looking at it, however, I am not keen on the cut. For thrashing around in the woods, I like lots of large pockets and a loose cut to allow for layers. I have used a Westwinds Ventile for several years and love it. Unfortunately I have lost my Covid kilograms and will need to find a smaller size. My alternative is a Country Innovation jacket. I have found both jackets very comfortable for stalking, wild fowling, birdwatching and general outdoor use. They also work well at scout camp when there are sparks flying and Gore-Tex melting all around me.

I am intrigued by it but won't take the plunge as it has one feature that I really dislike: a removable hood. I am not entirely convinced about the shape, size and positioning of the pockets either, as I prefer ones that offer a bit more space and/or clear a rucksack hip belt. Still, the reality may prove me grumpy and prejudiced, so I'll wait and watch!

That sounds good. Please will you share results? I’d be interested in price too - the website can lure you in with extras ...
Will do when they arrive and I get the chance to try them out in a bit of rain. Costing me £165
