I made the mistake of putting the cap back on when it was still warm and it melted the o ring a bit. Had to replace the ring after that to get a tight seal.

If it's anything like the trianga just replace the rubber o ring inside the cap. That should tighten the seal back up again.

Screwfix do builders gloves for £1.50. I use them and they take the chill out and the rubberised grip keeps hold of most things. And for that money I don't mind replacing them every so often. And as my old dad used to say - "if your fingers are cold your not working hard enough"!!!
