One last fire maybe

As just about everything in bushcraft seems to be illegal in some way, its probably time to burn the kit. No point to it, no point at all.

    Axe or what?

I have no idea what this is supposed to be, anyone? [/IMG] [/IMG] Judging by the 'socket' it must have a huge handle. (Frost for size comparison).

    Frost Mora Handle.

Being very happy with my Frost Mora, I decided to try and personalise one a little. Plastic handle cut off, shapes made for tang, wood (mahogony) epoxied on. Roughly shaped. Finished, side. Finished, edge. Not the best handle in the world I admit, but I...

    Reed Mace

I went for a bimble round last Wednesday and came back with, among other things, two Reed Mace heads. Broke them down to ‘fluff’ and tried some with the firesteel, one strike, WOW! Like throwing a match at petrol (so I am told :o ), excellent result, and I have quite a large bag of the...

    My first trip out.

Had my first trip out last weekend with my new kit (I am new to bushcrafting). Arrived at the meeting place around 11 on Sat and phoned in, we met up and went down to the camp grounds. Took me ages to set up my hammock as my tarp is only a bit longer than my hammock and I wanted it low...

    Need some antler.

I didn't know where to put this as its not exactly a swap, please move if needed. I would like a couple of tines to use as pressure flakers and a head end (butt?) to use as a hammer, as I have seen these things used for flint knapping and would like to have a go. I have nothing to swap as...

    I am amazed…..

…..at how expensive it is to get back to basics, even with shopping around and buying ‘starter’ stuff it adds up to a lot. Still have kit to get, maybe I will need foods from the wild after this :D Looking forward to getting out and about with it though.

Just joined, been looking around, great site, lots of info and lots more to read/learn it seems :) I live near Boston in Lincolnshire, I have some bushcraft skills, a bit rusty on those though (Army in the 70's, and some camp skills from Western re-enactments)..............actually, at 53 I...
