Judging by the 'socket' it must have a huge handle.

(Frost for size comparison).

Its difficult to see from the little pics (can U do a bigger one)
It looks like the point might be replacaeble seeing as there apear's to be a folding wedge to hold it. Maybe a mine working tool?

Well thats queer it looks like the point isnt solid all the way through when you see the plan, yet it does when you see the front elevetion :confused: :confused: , reminds me of those joke hat's with an "arrow" sticking through them:lmao: Mysteriuos. Is that remains of 2 rivett's inside the forged socket?
Oh and where did you get it from? Any makers mark? although it looks hand forged by a smith so it could be quite old

It came to me in a box of odd items, the axe/spike part is one piece, goes through a hole and is held in place by the wedge against the two through rivets.

Cant see a makers mark, it is covered in thick paint and seems to be very rusty.
