    Cherokee wisdom

Not exactly bushcraft but see what you think. Two wolves. One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said: “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envious, jealous, sorrowful, regretful...

    Duluth Lumberjack Pack

Hi all, I'm going to sell my new Duluth Lumberjack pack on ebay sometime over the next fortnight but before I do I thought I'd flag it up here first. I'm only flogging it to raise cash for a new canoe and something has to give. The one I have is without the side pockets and I have used it...

    Tarp and Bivy

I have always camped under canvas such as a tent or a hammock but have decided to go for the bivy approach. I have been geared up to do this but my wife has put a nagging doubt in my head about creepy crawlies climbing into my ear hole. Is this a rational fear or am I worried about nothing? I...

    Devil's advocate

Most of the people on this site are more concerned about gear and equipment rather than actually learning about plants, skills and techniques. Discuss.

    Duluth/Frost River...

I am thinking about ordering a pack from one or the other and was wondering can anyone tell me what the shipping charge is from the US to the UK and if there are any other nasty hidden charges? I know Bision does packs but not the one I have my eye on. Thanks guys.

    Leave signs

I was walking in the woods today and saw a small pile of leaves from a conker tree that appeared to have been nibbled at the end of the stalk. I know there are grey squirrels in the area and I'm just wondering are they responsible for this and why do they do it?
