My mums birth name was different but I wrote a letter and she had a passport etc on her new name. Basically she adopted a new first name and added her birth name as a second. I think it was less Irish when she came to UK in early 1950’s.
Being born in NI I can (and do) have both British & Irish passports.
One thing to be aware of, if you're getting your photo taken, tell the photographer it's for an Irish passport. The specs are different.

Bought a couple of days ago, but only delivered today .. a folding camp table. Gone are the days when my back and my legs made cooking prep and the like a comfortable experience at ground level.
It will get put and left in the bit of private wood where I often cook over the fire and already have comfortable chairs in place.

My sentiments exactly. I'm a bit of a sucker for chairs and the last one I bought was an expensive but excellent lightweight Helinox Sunset. Great for chucking in a pack for better comfort at work or whatever.Getting older is a bum, but any fool can be uncomfortable

Yes I have a copy already but over time the pages became stuck together.
I'm kinda surprised I've found this one as inexpensive as this to be honest as I thought they were commanding a far higher price.
I'm keen to see Paul Kirtleys latest book Core Bushcraft as I get an idea it will be in the same high quality content.
