Look closer: GORE military fabric, not Goretex, no mentions of 'breathable' anywhere. So it's $800 for a PU nylon bivy bag with arm holes and a claimed IRR capability. It's going to fly off the shelves exactly like the stuffed dodos in the Natural History Museum.

I don't know if the price is a typo - I hope so - but the kit itself, although not useful for me, looks okay.

"GORE® Military Fabric" isn't a very clear description but AFAIK it is a version of Gore-Tex made specifically for the US Military.

"AOR nIR fabric" will help keep you undetected when helicopters are looking for wild campers at night - it reduces your signature to IR detection equipment. If you also wear silver foil on your head you will be invisible to aliens too. This doesn't appear to be included in the kit for some reason.
