I've bought some allegedly waterproof footwear in the past that have been as water resistant as a colander, the prize going to a pair of Cotton Traders "waterproof mountian boots" that leaked on first use, and parted company with the sole in under a week. I might as well have bought some flip-flops.

And what is the appeal of flip-flops anyway?! Footwear that barely stays on, wears out after about an hour, provides no support at all, and gives everyone a glorious view of your disgusting feet. No thanks.

Flip Flops? A Billion or so tropical inhabitants would have to disagree with your damning assessment!

The more you wear the the less disgusting your feet may become as the toes get some stretching and air circulating around them.

Now theres a pretty toy :)

The stupidist thing for sale? Electrically pumped anti bacterial soap dispensers. Shown on TV cos you might pick up bacteria from a soap dispenser!

Even granting this to be true....what do you do after touching said dispenser? Oh yes, wash your hands with anti bacterial soap!! This in fact is the entire fecking point of touching the soap dispenser - because you plan to wash your hands immediately!

I had that argument with my mother when she commented what a good idea it was! Mums are not always right!
My next entry would be a blue force tracker but I don't think there available to buy.

I've seen them (they are an old Silva product), and I've been considering buying one. Mostly for playing tricks on other peoples brains, of course. But imagine being blind. How many of the navigational cues that you use are now available? Still hard to imagine many applictions for it
