I heard an interesting quote today, attributed to Stephen Spielberg, that described MJ. as being "like a deer in a burning forest."

He was a talented musician who got lost in stardom along the way, he's not the only one I can think of, but I hope he's found some peace now.

It will be a shame if the media and other hacks continue to chew on his bones instead of leaving his children to grieve and try to live a normal life.

Unfortunately, that is what I fully expect the media to do. they never left him alone and this is the biggest MJ story in years, they won't let it be. I'm often struck at how much the media lack any form of dignity or respect. The jokes will do the rounds, but at least we're not chasing the family round as they try and get their lives in order.

Most sickening thing will be the gushing media tributes who will hail MJ as the all time king of pop and mourn the tragic loss of a musical legend.

The previous 15 years of ridicule, abuse, torment and lies will conveniently be brushed aside.

I liked his music but as for the man himself, Ill censor my thoughts on that. Im a bit sad though as one of my service users is a big michael fan and sometimes we go out and spend the day looking at michael jackson books, singing his songs and then we spend the afternoon watching him dance on youtube. He`ll be really upset now. He has loads of pictures he drew of MJ on his walls as a kid so it seems he has loved him for a long time.

I felt completely disconnected from the man as he has been for the past decade or so, but the jackson 5 and 'off the wall' formed a big part of the musical backdrop to my childhood.
Wonderful memories of dancing 'round the room with my mum and my sisters to some amazing music, that somehow got inside you and planted a smile on your face.

Today's tributes on the radio did not affect me emotionally, as I didn't know the man, nor feel any connection to him, but it has been a wonderful excuse for nostalgic singing and dancing.

Death is part of life. I greive only for those that I love. But I can remember the good in others.
