Perhaps I say what is not meant to be said, But I am no more or less than what I am.

To pretend otherwise is in my opinion foolish. If I am not respected for my honesty and sincerity then I am not.

I am true to my nature, and my nature is honest.

I don't expect to be liked or disliked, I am one of the few who my friends say I truly do not care what others think of me. I have my own opinions, I do not ask that you agree with them only that I be given the chance to be who I am and not be criticised for it.

That is, is it not the definition of freedom? If we have not this, then what do we have?

That's all very interesting I'm sure, but what's it got to do with Michael Jackson ??

The Beeb are still listing him as 'gravely ill' with reports that many US news sources have listed him dead- not an official source.

I should think he probably is. its not like he could live incognito from now on, he is a bit recognisable.

Mind you, money can buy a lot of liberties not available to the common man.....

Not a fan, at all.

But I'd like to remind everyone that the poor sod had a totally abnormal upbringing; no one brought up that way could have any chance at all of turning out normal.

Also bit of respect for the people he left behind would not be too much to ask for, would it?

I cannot help but look at the fuss being made in the media, and all the Diana-esque recreational grieving, and compare it with the way in which the death of soldiers on operations doesn't even make the front page any more.

There's bee a few posts removed from this thread and it's getting irritating that it's necessary, if you intend to post and you have nothing constructive to say then don't say it. We know his history, we know a lot of the good and the bad stuff and this is not the place to bring it up, a general conversation about it is fine, the guy has died and it's not between him and his maker (that's not an opportunity for a religious conversation).

Heck, you know what i'm on about, just keep it within expectable boundaries because it becomes taxing tidying up constantly.

Edited out; sorry Tony, we must've cross posted

RIP MJ, your music has been a constant throughout my life and you will be sorely missed by many.

Pete

:tapedshut I'm not sure why my post was removed, I'm not pleased he's passed, I wasn't cracking a joke or being offensive, I just don't agree with the sentiment and this is a discussion forum where I have seen many a sensitive subject tackled with starkly apposing views.

I'm usually a sit on the fence kind of person and don't generally get invloved in this type of discussion but in this case I felt compelled somehow. I genuinly didnt see aproblem with my post but your the boss but it wasn't my intention to fall foul of the rules. If I did I'm sorry.

Your courtesy and understanding would be appreciated.

Basically if you don't have anything good to say of the dead, then this isn't the place for anything else.

I removed the posts to keep the thread quietly on line, but I got interupted before I could tell anyone what I'd done. Sorry for the hiatus.

cheers,
Toddy

My thoughts on this... he was an amazing singing talent especially as a kid. Effortless vocal range and timing. That talent will be sorely missed. The story of his death is just really unfolding and intertwined with much speculation, as was his life, witness news of his daily dose of injected Demorol, death shortly after his dose yesterday, and the Doctor who administered it going missing. What I am saying is that such God given talent so often ends in tragedy and this I find confusing. Anyway, he's out of all the turmoil now, RIP. And - whether you like his music or not - you have to admit we're left with an amazing musical legacy which to me renders his life far from wasted when all is said and done. For that musical legacy, a big thank you. Chris

This place gets more and more like my Grandmother's front room every day. Nice place to have a gentle chat about nothing in particular, a warm re-assuring hug; and some nice tea and home made cakes. Not that that is a bad thing, necessarily. If MJ had grown up with a Grandmother's front room like that, he'd probably be still alive, and kicking. And like cakes. A lot. Chris

My nan used to make an absolutely cracking bread pudding. She always put peel in it, despite the fact that I can't abide peel and would ask her not to. But in it would still go. It's a credit to her bread pudding making that it was a displeasure I was happy to undergo.
Nan's baking is great, isn't it!?
