Popped over to Sussex to pick up a new (at least 3rd hand) Engel fridge for the back of the truck, runs and chills beautifully


It was pretty warm on the drive. I had to have the A/C on.

Got me a little two man tent in green from Halfords on Wednesday...yes it wasn't today, but hey..
It was only 38 quid, and seems a nice little tent for overnighters. Replaces my 3 man, barbie pink vango, which though I like it well enough, is quite in your face, not realy very bushcraft, plus it's about 20 yrs old also not exactly backpackable.
I just wanted a cheap summer backpack able tent for summer, when the weather is a bit suss, so hopefully this will do.
They do a tent, mat, and sleeping bag package for 50 smakers so ideal for a starter kit, or a youngsters first set up.
They do stoves, gas, pan sets and mugs and plates too.
I went in to look for a pushbike,
Lots of ones for chaps, but only two womens bikes, both not what i wanted, and came out with the tent, another can of gas, and a nice water container with tap.

Having a bit of a shuffle round at the moment selling old watches which don't get worn and buying new watches to replace them. I've just ordered these two from Japan.

Has the tent got a flysheet? The waterproofing on one of their single skin "festival" tents did a few trips ok but didn't last me long. I didn't do my usual silicon/white spirit bath to re waterproof it afterwards which I could have done.
Otherwise the manufacture was sound and is still being massively abused as a play tent by the grand-kids.

It seems to have a seperate fly with a porch, looking at the instructions, but I've not had an opportunity to set it up yet.
It could well be single skin, the instructions aren't very clear.
I'm busy with looking after my veg garden and setting up a balcony veg garden per my permaculture thesis, for another lady,and looking after my 80 Yr old friend who has developed plantar faceitus, (sorry spelling!) and can't walk, so I'm doing her shopping and other house stuff so she can rest up and heal.
It's pretty exhausting in this heat! Both live at opposite ends of the town, and I have no car!
I have extra seam sealant and spray on waterproofing, so that is already catered for, soon as I get a chance. I never take cheapo tents for granted on the waterproofing front.
I don't mind it being single skin for the summer. Though I don't intend using it in bad weather anyway.
