Fair enough mate, Just not seen it in ours and as i said, we go there often.
Do you think the Rio Mare is worth the premium price? I've had a couple of tins, and honestly cant tell much difference to say Princes.. which i prefer over John West.
£15 is on the steeper side. The chap i watch on youtube has had several tins of line caught Tuna in Cornish butter... The Cornish Canning Company i believe its called and that stuff is £20+ a tin. I'd love to try it, but i'm not that rich!!I forgot to mention two other tinned fish based treats!
A pint of cold beer with a tin of Ortiz anchovies as a beer snack.
And the other one is ludicrously priced (£15+ a tin! Oof) so I have only had it once before and have another to save for a special occasion.

Not really, I bought them as a taste test when they were on offer.Do you think the Rio Mare is worth the premium price? I've had a couple of tins, and honestly cant tell much difference to say Princes.. which i prefer over John West.
Same mate. Nice enough Tuna, but not worth the price when you can get 4 Princes etc for almost the same priceNot really, I bought them as a taste test when they were on offer.

So who is tempted by canned oysters? canned mussels ? canned razor clams?
Are we missing a trick ? or just missing a potential increased likelihood of food poisoning?

I'm kinda tempted - but in the ' I would need some dutch courage ' kinda way.
Got some Mussels from that tinned fish market. Limfjord blue mussels, smoked over beechwood. Only tin i have left of the 3. The monkfish and cod liver were both really nice. To hell with it. Give me 10 mins, and we shall decant the tin....(tinned fish reviews catchphrase lol)So who is tempted by canned oysters? canned mussels ? canned razor clams?

They have.If they brought out tinned scallops I'd be tempted - go on, tell me they have![]()
Not bad at all. Not used to eating cold mussels that arent pickled... i do prefer them hot. But they were ok. Far better with a good dash of Tabasco. Nice and soft and smoky, but certainly on the fishier side taste wise. (Hence the Tabasco)So who is tempted by canned oysters? canned mussels ? canned razor clams?

The way Lidl's appears to work, or at least does in my own neck of the woods is it doesn't appear to restock what's out when there are other options available, in that it seems the less popular stuff has to be sold first before they will restock. Am experiencing somewhat of this phenomena with Mulligatawny soup that was one of my goto's for a while and also some varieties of beans I prefer more than others. Seems none like chick peas though, they have loads of themLidl used to do herring in a mustard sauce. I haven’t seen them in a while now, but then I did stop looking. They were delicious!
That herring is grim! You could clear a battlefield with one tin.Go on has any tried the Swedish way of doing fish, el stinky the tinned fermented herring, or sild of which I do know is available in the UK. Got a liking for Sil in Sweden, great washed down with a finger or two of schnapps
