So much love for Zelda... Not played that since...N64? It's really still a thing? Gonna take me a minute to get my head around that.

Stop buying expensive knives and kit you're not using. Buy a damn PC, which you so obviously need. Switch? ***? i thought i had it all wrong... Feel much better... thanks lol.

Need a new knife?... Buy a mora... wanna play games..... buy a switch... it all makes sense....:p:p:p:p:p
I do actually have a proper gaming PC too but it mostly gets used for watching DVD's these days and when I do play games it mostly tends to be on the Switch thanks to it being handheld.

Also I do sometimes also play the remastered versions of Monkey Island 1 & 2 at work when the boss isn't looking. :p

Yeah, gamer here. I usually bounce between single-player RPGs and co-op shooters, depending on how much time I have after work. Lately I've been grinding through shorter story-driven games because they’re easier to finish without feeling burned out. What really helped me keep the hobby fun was not forcing myself into competitive stuff when I’m not in the moo switching genres keeps things fresh.
I've been playing Red Dead 2 since March, 6 story mode play throughs then another 1000 hours or more on online. Took a break from it recently as a couple of games on my steam wish list went on sale. Been playing Sons of the Forest a lot recently. I like it... Really has you on the edge of your seat at times, especially in the caves, doubly so on the hardest difficulty.

I've really gone off competitive stuff myself. I used to play World of Tanks, World of Warships and War Thunder a lot, but i get a bit stressed at times and figured its just not worth it. Even Red Dead Online i play in a solo lobby with no one else in it. Too many hackers and griefers on PC.

Monkey Island... Damn, that's a blast from the past. I had The Secret of Monkey Island on the Atari STE when i was a kid. Remember it well.

Which one did you get?

This one. Although it's called the R40S the only difference is the case shape. I just went with the seller with the best rating.

Sounds fun. What stuff do they have on them?
Most of the NES, SNES, Megadrive 1 & 2, Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games. A lot of N64 but probably not all. There's a selection of PlayStation and Dreamcast games but you can add more pretty easily. It says 30,000 games which might be true. Certainly more than you could play in a lifetime.

I recently bought a little R36S emulator off ebay and I'm working through some classic games from the 90s.
My manager has a LighteningModz console which he says is good. It has many thousands of games and emulators (Comadore 64, Amiga, Spectrum 48/128k, Atari ST, Saga MasterSystem, Megadrive, Dreamcast, Nintendo SNES, N64, GameCube, Arcade games, PS1, Xbox 1) all in one simple plug and play box. I'm tempted to get the handheld version just to see the old Amiga games again.

Monkey Island 1 & 2 were remasted 15 years ago. Exactly the same games in every way but now with hand painted graphics and all the dialogue has been voice acted (and the voice acting actually sounds good too). They're games which have aged well thanks the original witty dialogue.

I've finally popped Red Dead II in and given it a whirl.. very impressed and probably hooked for the Christmas period.

Mostly it seems I want to build a cabin and be a trapper.

You’re in for a treat. My only advice would be to not worry about advancing the main story too quickly - really take your time and try everything out. Such a good game.

Side quests are where its at.
Played Fallout so many times and don't think I've ever gotten around to completing the main quest lines.

Is that online or Story? Story is by FAR the winner. That hings got more awards than i've made knives. The depth of it, the characters, the story.... Its an oscar winning film where you're the main actor. Please dont watch youtube vids... too many spoilers... Live, learn, laugh, cry. And may the change it brings to your life be remembered forever. You will never forget Arthur Morgan

Chapter 2 is the best one... It has the tranquillity and depth that really sets it apart. Just chill and listen... and i do mean listen... to the NPC's. All of them. Wander the world, get into fist fights, start bar brawls, find some gold bars, learn how to hunt wolf, cougar and bear.... Learn how to fight them if they get the drop on you, and trust me, they will... far more than you find them first... Dying is easy, living takes practice. Get your horses to level 4 bonding and they will perform miracles for you. Mustangs for the win. If you're doing story mode... (you can only have 4 horses) NEVER get rid of Raven (the black shire Hosea gives you). ITs the only Black shire in the entire game and He is a feckin beast. Ignore horse stats too. There's like a second difference between each speed bar at most. Take your time, enjoy the world.... see you in August. :)

DayZ on Xbox is about all I play at the moment. When I say play, I spent most of my time hiding in a bush sh**ing myself!!

Probably one of the few games that can actually teach a semblance of survival skills - celestial navigation , hypothermia, hyperthermia , infection, route planning , etc etc

The Zeds are an annoyance to all of that.

Look up the long dark then!

I’ll stand by it being the best survival game ever. It’s incredibly intricate, for example you can make tools and equipment to catch and process a fish and then cook it on a fire (once you’ve collected materials) and render the oil for use in a lantern when it’s dark.

My favourite exploration/survival game has to be Subnautica. It's primarily based on underwater exploration on an alien planet, and it's both majestic and terrifying. Utterly brilliant game. Available on PC and consoles. Just played through it again this past few weeks actually.

Yeah, there are a few of us around. I mostly play in the evenings after work lately it’s been single-player stuff like Cyberpunk and Horizon because it’s easier to jump in and out without scheduling with friends. Online games are fun, but I burned out on competitive shooters after too many late-night matches. If you’re trying to get back into gaming, I’d say start with something story-driven or co-op so it doesn’t feel like a grind. Also, if you swap between platforms, keeping track of good deals helps a lot since prices jump around.I’ve checked cdkeyprices.com a couple times just to compare prices before buying something new. It’s useful for getting a quick overview without digging through multiple stores.
