Stu and Ozzy the shafts I use with my Great Northern bows are pine and I think they work very well. Bowsports.com is where I buy feathers from in the 100's. Nice that you are going to the white side in fletching, it works for me. Nocks last time I got 100 of eBay for £4 I think, which was lucky.

I'm considering leading a skill-share. I can train everyone in the fine art of sitting around the campfire scratching our nuts and telling Really Big Fish stories, because that's what SWMBO believes we do on these weekends.

Any interest?

That would depend on how you were going to do the practical on the subject.. lol

That's good news about the pine... I like the orange/yellow that I use, but it means that I have to think how many of each I have and need to buy, lol,

White just seems to be the only colour I can decide on..... lol.. think I'll keep my eye open for a bag of 100...

I like my red, white and blue that I use at the moment I will have to find a different scheme if the jocks get their way though. Maybe red, gold and green :)

So why would you have to change them?
I saw your wife this morning and gave her Stu's tops which hopefully you can give him at the meet next weekend?

Steve who would you recommend to get a string for my Grizzly from, the current one isn't the original but I don't know how old it is so for piece of mind I want to get a new one?

The Scots may have a blue flag but do you really think we'd change it?
The whole flag thing is a bit up in the air as many dispute it's actual origin. Some historians claim that it was formed 100 years before Scotland joined the union (doesn't make sense to me)

Load of crap if you ask me.

Think youe will find the two flages were put together from England and Scotland when King JAme took over both thrones back in the 1600's.. then the St PAtricks cross followed... to make the red X on the flag.. I may be wrong wityh dates and actual scales of how it happend but its something liek that....

You are very welcome Stu, I may buy some different tops to go with these ones, if you want something else let me know. Are you going for shield or parabolic Stu ?

Hi guys I need to ask, because I haven't had much experience, but are those cheap ferro rods/firesteels any different from the seriously expensive ones? I would have thought a ferro rod is a ferro rod but I have one or two cheap ones, and I haven't as of yet had much luck with any of them!! Thing is, I didn't have much luck with the expensive lightmyfire one I had when I was younger either!

What's all the fuss about?!

The light my fire ones are the best, if you didn't have much luck with them try again, the cheap ones are cheap for a reason, like most knock offs they are $hite

Well that sucks lol. Maybe at a meet I can bring a selection of different ones from Blanks from china to the real deal and try each one and see if we can get the cheaper ones to work

Our built in sparky thing in kitchen stove has gone bust so sometimes we use the cheap ferro rod to light the hobs. Lights first time with gas lol ;)
