a wee bit of sarcasm on my part. By far the worst cut I've had was when I whent to pull a fern out and in the second it took for me to think "not without your gloves on" it was done.

Done the same thing today with a spoon knife making a bad practice slicing cut, fixed it up myself as not too deep, glad it wasn't as deep as yours. Heal quickly mate.

Thanks for the concern everyone. I was trying to liberate this bear from that unidentified stick I had. (I changed my mind from the woodspirit as I don't have the chisels and stuff.)



Anyhow, what went wrong was the following, as I was carving out the mouth, rather than pushing the blade in with my thumb, I simply held it in forhand grip and sliced forward towards my left hand holding the piece, the knife slipped of and, well OP really...

Won't be carving for a little while now I'm afraid
